Groundnuts aka Peanuts!

You have gone 'nuts' to refuse eating groundnuts, the usual remark I keep hearing in my younger years

Tooth decay caused by excessive eating of chocolates discouraged me from tasting or eating the groundnuts

While munching, a few of them gets stuck in the tooth cavity and trigger toothache which was unbearable at that age

Thus I would take to my heels the moment I sight my mother with a bowl of ground nuts either roasted or steamed

Later when I took to solo travelling in my youth days, this groundnut had been a saviour to address the stomach rumblings

During the year 1980s, the mind was at ease to seek and drink water from anyone and all obliged

I used to carry in the backpack, a water bottle and fill it before embarking on a short trek

Besides the protein values in the groundnut one sure side effect is feeling thirsty and while on a trek

One must sip water to quench thirst but not drink to avoid the frequently rising need to ease oneself and to store

While on the trek if you ever happen to chance on a group of monkeys it would do a lot of good to skip the groundnut munching in front of them

They are wiser to the values of groundnuts than us and will make sure to give us a run for life

At many tourist centres where the monkeys dwell the drama between groundnut munching tourist and the monkeys will be a scene worth the view

Groundnuts aren't expensive and there's 100% value for money in them

Right now am munching groundnuts while writing this content and maybe am still a 'nut' by sharing a post on

Groundnuts aka Peanuts !
