Importance of self-validation!

The youngster was keenly watching the Potter forming shapes out of the clay mix

She never uttered a word nor lifted her eyes from the wheel for the next 30 minutes

This sequence was repeated for the next 30 days

31st day morning the Potter was stunned to find a lively mug with a tag, carefully placed near the wheel

The tag read ‘pranamams to guruji' 🙏🏼

The potter went a bit emotional as his mind flipped through the pages of his past life

Born in a family of potters, pottery was the default profession

His father who taught to spin the wheel, mix the clay, delicately form the shapes using his arms, failed to encourage him whenever he failed in forming a shape out of the clay

His father always scolded and sometimes even used to beat him up for not succeeding in clay formations

This outrage had a disastrous effect on his self-belief and self-confidence

Negativity began to dominate his character and whenever he touched the clay or the wheel, his fingers began to tremble

Many nights he had spent crying his heart out and self-pity consoled him

One morning as he was walking towards the pottery shop, he chanced upon a handicapped boy selling paper mesh toys

Drawn to the boy for some reason, he struck a conversation and learnt that the boy was orphaned as a toddler, cared for by a neighbour family till he turned 6 years

A major incident in that family left him on the roads and since then he had been surviving in the streets

He learnt this toy making by observing a migrant family who stayed in his area for a few months before they migrated again

The first month of trial and error was indeed discouraging but the thought of survival persuaded his mind to pursue

It's almost a year now, he had upskilled gradually and he confided that any skill needs to be unskilled periodically to stay in the race

The young potter boy felt rejuvenated, he felt the flow of positive energy in him and this time when he touched the potter's wheel

His fingers didn't tremble rather they displayed more confidence, 30minutes later the mug that he had crafted was so stunningly beautiful that he couldn't believe his eyes

He was about to rush to his father with his first trophy but the thoughts of his reaction stopped him, he chose to keep the secret with himself

After that, there was no turning back and today he is the most sought after potter in the city

His thoughts resonated with that youngster who too had taken after his character

He decided, to shine in life and profession all a person need is self-trust, self-awareness, self-confidence, drive, dedication and perseverance

No other validation is needed to shine 🙏🏼
