Is it 'Time' that changes us or do we change as per the times?

This is a curious thought that lingers in the mind as and when there’s time to think on this
As I stood in front of the mirror to shave, my thoughts travelled back a few years during which period, i hadly shaved
My external appearance wasn’t a priority in that period because I was constantly working on organising my thoughts to fall in line
The internal stimuli caused by situations in life prioritised the mind to focus on balancing the emotions more than caring for personal grooming
I wondered at the aspects of the mind which functions as per the brain processing system 👇
The Frontol Lobe of our brain is the tool that is responsible for complex thinking, reasoning and making decisions
In other words, this part of the brain is where the thoughts evolve consciously to arrive at logical conclusions
The Cerebrum of our brain plays an active role in assisting the Frontol Lobe by analysing the inputs to filter the intelligent aspects from irrational thoughts and store them as a memory to retrieve during application of those thoughts
As an analogy, let’s take the situations of a sailor
So long the ship sails smoothly, the sailor spends time in the cabin to self groom but the moment the sea goes rough
The sailor cares a two-bit on the appearance since the mind prioritised the importance of survival
Life is much like the ship on the sea and as sailors in our lives, we too prioritise the needs as per the situations in our life
Thanks to the complex functioning of the brain, our mind takes control of our actions during the hours of crisis to bail us out
Else, we may sink due to internal debates on what to do in such moments of our life
I proceeded with the shave and saved myself from further probing to focus on the day ahead
Looks like it isn’t 'Time' that changes but it’s we who change as per our 'Life Times'
I invite your thoughts on this
