Life is as deep as an ocean!

The bird's tweets woke me up and as I rolled on the bed before climbing out, my thoughts wandered towards the previous night!

I can't describe that as a coincidence but it probably was predestined to happen!

I was scrolling through my social media lifetimes and there was this connect request in one of the mobile apps!

I ventured into that application site, visited the profile page of the person and was a bit intrigued since the face appeared familiar!

I scrolled through the pages of my past and tried to find this face but it kept eluding me for a while!

Finally, my eyes focused on the times of school life and there was this face with a childish grin!

Well, wasn't he that stubborn boy who always tried to poke his nose into my affairs!

'Affairs' here is a simple term that marks the feud between boys in school over trivial matters!

It all began on the first day of my enrollment into that school with this boy blocking my way into the classroom!

Initially, I asked him to move aside but pushed him out of the way when he remained stubborn in the space!

This escalated into an exchange of blows and an entertainment scene for the rest of the boys who added fuel to the fire by taking sides!

The arrival of the class teacher ended the quarrel but the incident seeded enmity between us!

There began a fierce competition between the two of us, be it the exam scores, sports events or standing for classroom leadership!

We fought and put up the fight till the last in all the above tests of school times!

It was the last day of school in that academic year and all of us were exchanging pleasantries and wishing each other a great holiday!

This boy was standing awkwardly in one corner and kept staring at me!

Like an idiot, I assumed that he was preparing for a final fight before parting ways!

But he calmly walked up to me, hugged me tight and said 'I am sorry'

I was completely taken aback and couldn't respond immediately but managed to feel the warmth in the hug!

As we looked each other in the eye, I said 'But for you, I wouldn't have found my fighting spirits to rise and shine'

Our handshake was friendly and the unsaid words in our minds erased the hatred at my heart!

That day I could have learned two life lessons 👇
"Don't assume, rather keep your mind open"
"Don't store hatred, rather try to forgive, forget and move on because the hatred will only spoil our days"

Eventually, life did teach me these lessons a bit in a hard way, still, I am yet to learn my lessons!

I gladly accepted his friend request and sent a thankful message to lay the foundation for resuming a long-lasting friendship, even if it could be just virtual!

These thoughts brought a smile to my lips and I happily rolled out of bed looking forward to a beautiful day ahead ☀️

Life indeed is quite deep with much knowledge stored to source, learn and grow wise in life 🌱
