Pranam to Guru πŸ™

A teacher aka guru is a person who guides a fresh mind to walk on the path of knowledge!

Knowledge isn't limited to academic qualifications but extends to educating on the healthy way of living too!

During my internship (year 1979 - 1981) at Sivakasi and Madurai, located in Tamilnadu, south India

I was lucky to have met Subramanya Vadyar, a muscular and mystic senior person who was training youngsters to build muscles, mind and survival skills!

He called the gym a Gurukula, treated all the students as Sishyas and equally demanded the respect of a Guru!

My natural flair for fitness was refined and redefined by Guru Vadyar and the one year of my devoted time at the Gurukula strengthened my body & mind to find the in-depth values in his teachings!

The one-liner written in bold letters at the gym entrance and often mentioned by Vadyar πŸ‘‡
"Till your last breath, try to stay fit"

Is etched in my heart and acts as the driving force to keep me on my toes!

45 years have rolled by but the respectful memories of Subramanya Vadyar stay fresh each moment in my mind!

Hence I still find the energy to visit the gym and try to stay fit till my last breath!

On this teacher's day, I solemnly say my pranam to Guru Subramanya Vadyar who made all the difference in my lifestyle πŸ™
