PTSD - post traumatic stress disorder ?

A syndrome commonly found with people who had gone through extremely tough times, either -

Emotionally, Physically or Situationally

In the case of an adopted child, this trauma and the related stress disorder is severe & deep

Specifically, these include problems in bonding, attachment disorders, lying, stealing, defiance of authority, and acts of violence.

Problems with developing an identity gradually lead to reduced self-esteem and self-confidence which influence increased risk of substance abuse that end in feelings of loss & grief

Depressed, they begin to hate everything around & themselves to an extent that this generally end in suicidal behaviour

These could be greatly reduced or avoided if the parents who adopt the child are at the first hand be ready with -

Parenthood, maturity level, stable thinking, their adequate health, good communication & problem solving skills and their ability to adjust to any given situation

Healthy discussions with the child as it grows, on the adoption, the situations that the child may face, on how the same can be tackled and never make remarks or compare with biological children

All adopted children are likely to harbour thoughts of their biological parents and on why they were orphaned hence the best steps would be to

Help and assit them to sort this issue, encourage them to deal with it on their own and come out of the situation by themselves

If an adopted child's younger years are of less exposure to traumatic situations, then there's likely possibilities for an heathy, matured adult life

Many of the orphaned/adopted people learn to live with the trauma and few manage to get over these feelings

And it depends on their upbringing environment and society in general 🙏
