Six faces of Skanda 🦚
Puranas (ancient scripts) mention a celestial occurrence of the birth of Skanda aka Karthikeya aka Muruga by the union of Shiva's potent energy emerging from His ajna chakra and merging with the power of Sakthi (His concert)
Ajna chakra representing wisdom, the potent energy of Shiva comprising the five elements and the power of Sakthi (universal sustenance) clearly indicating that the combined power of Skanda is Supreme
Shiva, the pancha muga, namely Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Sky (in Vedic terms as Ishana, Tatpurusha, Aghora, Vamadeva and Sadyojatha)
Sakthi, the universal driving force to manifest and evolve which controls the creation, maintenance and destruction of the universe
& The force of wisdom from Shivas ajna chakra, collectively created the whole form of Skanda
Hence Skanda's six faces is a wholesome representation of the five elements which are the factors of universe formation and the sixth face denoting the combination of wisdom and universal power
These celestial powers collectively convey that Skanda is the complete divine force which balances the functional aspects of the universe through the wisdom to align the five elements using the power of the universe to sustain
In other words, the six faces of Skanda symbolise the manifestation of the supreme self in the principal functions of creation, preservation, destruction, involution and grace
The sixth face symbolises Pranava mantra Aum (the primal source of wisdom or universal vibe)
Skanda is also known as the acharya of Shiva by educating the Tatvam of Aum, the pranava mantra whose significance is
With the wisdom as the sixth face, Skanda balanced the five faces ( five elements) of Shiva and sustained the same with the universal vibe, the Aum
Breath is the force or energy of life and Aum is the life force or the vibe of the universe, hence Skanda is the breath of all lives and His six faces are the living energy or power for all lives 🙏
