The dawn of New Year!

The banyan tree before signing off for the night glanced around, most of its tenants were asleep and the cattle which were taking a short nap at the base had left well before the twilight hours

Tomorrow will dawn the 200th year since its seeds found the soil to grow, the tree witnessed the environmental impacts, the depletion of natural resources in the woods and overall lifestyle changes in the past two centuries

The banyan tree had learnt that the only thing that remained constant through the past 200 years was 'human behaviour'

Humans rever the trees as The Tree Of Life but end up destroying the green cover, two centuries ago the humans used the axe to axe down the trees

Technological growth had empowered them to clear the forest cover in no time, in these current times

The banyan tree also stood as a witness to the humans new year resolutions to reduce their environmental impacts, protect the greenbelt, plant trees and save nature

The tree began to laugh because just that evening a group of humans who had assembled at the woods began to discuss their plan of action towards afforestation as their New Year Resolution

The tree had heard similar vows taken by humans in the past year's as their new year plan but their actions had invariably ended in destruction

The banyan tree didn't lose the hope for a change in human behaviour and wished that at least they would uphold their resolution taken this evening

The tree said may the "dawn of New Year 2022 dawns the facts of ecological balance and the art of the healthy coexistence with nature" in the human's minds

May we all respect the feelings of the woods and learn to coexist with Mother Nature, let this New Year Resolution be upheld by us for the sake of our survival on a healthy planet

The clock is ticking and we have begun the countdown for welcoming the "New Year of Hope 2022"

May the dawn of the New Year dawn to shine brightness in our life through the year 2022 🙏🏼
