The term 'micro resorts' is trending in the tourism industry!

Micro Resorts

Surprisingly micro envisaging the macro as a future is for real and is happening in the travel sector

None believed me when I tried venturing in this model way back in the 1980s using shipping containers as converted leisure spaces

Understandably the trust was more on concrete structures within the city limits in those years and projects that deviated from this fixed mindset was doubted

Over years the advent of adventure tourism impressed the minds of the conservative tourists to break the barrier and explore the outskirts and the less tredden paths

The pandemic (Covid) did change the choice of locations and mode of travel and inspired the younger generations to connect better with nature

Staycations, workcations, camping, glamping, campervans and outdoor activities began to witness an increased patronage which motivated the aspiring entrepreneurs to venture into compact or micro resorts, located faraway from the hustle and bustle of metros

The trend shifted from the standard tourists who go on vacations with a tight schedule to the carefree and casual travellers who willingly explore the unexplored terrains of various locations

There's a vast landscape across the nation awaiting the responsible traveller to feel the soil and connect with the local beauty of nature

Micro resorts is the workable model to fulfil this purpose since it offers an opportunity for scaling from micro to macro, progressively

Though permanent structures are still preferred, prefab and knockdown units are increasingly becoming popular with the younger generation entrepreneurs

The advantage with prefab/ready to assemble modules are affordable cost, short installation period, less impact on the local terrains and the ease of relocating

Today there's a wide choice of these prefab leisure homes/cottages with reliable after sales services and backup maintenance teams

My aspirations to venture again hasn't faded and maybe I will dust my backpack and begin re exploring the untredded terrains to locate the right place to setup a micro resort

See what the world needs more is a responsible approach in tourism sector both by the entrepreneur and the traveller since much of nature's reserves has already been exploited in the name of Travel & Tourism

People like me who prioritise nature conservation more than harvesting wealth must venture in travel and tourism for the betterment of future generations

A world minus the beauty of nature is no place for humanity to thrive and that's what the moto of the travel industry should be 🌿
