Thiru - Onam festivity!

Ende Keralam (Kerala) the fond words of Keralites who say it with pride, is in the festival mood!
The "God's Own Country" is preparing to welcome its ruler God
King Mahabali 👑

This annual event, popularly known as Onam unites the people of Kerala across the globe to rise above caste, creed, religion or status.

Thiru Onam and Sravan Mahotsav are the other names and the purpose behind this festival is to commemorate the mythical king Mahabali, Mark the end of monsoon and welcome the harvest season!

For each of the 10 days, beginning with the first day or Athom to the 10th day or Thiru Onam, Malayalis across the world will create pookolams in their homes.

Onam Sadya 👉 The feast
Sadya is one of the most important aspects of Onam since the lunch is the feast given to their beloved King Mahabali. For Malayalis, a proper Onam Sadya is essential for a proper Onam feel.

Onam Festivity marks various cultural programmes and events like making Pookolam designs, participating in Pulikali (tiger dance) and conducting boat races, more known as snake boat races!

The flower Kolams (designs) enthral the viewer's mind, the feast fills the taste buds, the dance invokes the power of King Mahabali and the boat races mark the culmination of the festival!

It is such festivals that bring people together and encourage them to bury their differences to live in harmony 🎶

On this occasion, I wish all Malayalis a joyful Thiru Onam 🌺
