To learn!
When Sindbad offered a short piggyback ride to a helpless aged person it was out of empathy
When the aged person took advantage of the compassion, it was selfishness
Now let's look at this from few angles
* Was Sindbad a victim of empathy?
* Did Sindbad assume that the old man was handicapped
* Or did he wished for a companion along the way
* Was the old man elusive
* Was this a survival tactic
* Or did the old man too wished for companionship
If so what we learn from this story is
• Be empathetic but be wise
• Never assume but analyse
• Take a companion but not at your cost
• All that glitters aren't gold
• Seek assistance but be genuine
• Respect a good deed and acknowledge
• Ulterior motives don't last
Yet another morale I find in this story is
If the aged person relate to unnecessary thoughts and Sindbad, the common person then what we learn from this story is "never carry the burden of unwanted thoughts that will weigh us down"
I think there's more to a story than what we are taught 🙏🏼
