Tourist & Traveller!

The other day at a room in the clubhouse we were conversing on the lines of responsible tourism

One of the speakers began to talk about tourists and the conversations flowed towards a Tourist & a Traveller

There were multiple thoughts shared since each had their perspective of the tourist and the traveller

One interesting observation was that a Tourist will look forward to seeing all the listed places of interest at a particular tourist centre and spend most of their stay time on that

A traveller on the other hand would wish to see a few exotic spots that are not listed and will choose to wander by themselves

A tourist typically will hire a local cab to travel around or sign up with a local tour operator for sightseeing trips

A traveller will always prefer to use the local shuttles or hire a bicycle to travel around and in many cases, choose to walk

A tourist will look forward to dining at the most popular restaurants, cafes and end up complaining about the quality of the food, pricing and services

A traveller will opt for wallet-friendly offbeat dining centres, eat sumptuously and end up spending the next few days, often visiting the restroom

The room ended with loads of laughter and the speakers assuring to resume the conversation in the same lines, for the days to come

Are you a Tourist or a Traveller?
